Author's Biography
Khattar Hatoum was born in Kafarselwan, in the mountains of Lebanon. He didn’t follow the most conventional path to success. His journey began in 1992 when he arrived in America with dreams and aspirations. He started his career as a hairdresser, working hard to establish himself in a new country. After three years of saving diligently, he achieved a significant milestone by opening his own hair salon in the same location where he had been working. This venture marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey and taught him valuable lessons about business and perseverance.
However, at the age of 37, he realized that in order to fully realize his dreams and potential, he needed to further his education. He knew that gaining more knowledge and skills was essential to his growth and the impact he wanted to make. With determination, he returned to school and earned his GED, a crucial first step that reignited his passion for learning.
Encouraged by this achievement, he pursued a Bachelor's degree in Psychology. The more he learned, the more fascinated he became with the human mind and behavior. His desire to help others led him to continue his education, and he went on to earn a Master's degree in Psychology. This advanced degree opened up new opportunities and deepened his understanding of mental health and well-being.
But he didn’t stop there. Driven by a commitment to make a meaningful difference, he recently completed his PhD in Psychology and Substance Abuse. This accomplishment represents years of dedication, hard work, and an unwavering belief in the power of education to transform lives. Today, he is proud to use his expertise to contribute to the field of psychology and support individuals struggling with substance abuse, helping them on their path to recovery and a better future.
His unconventional journey has been marked by resilience, perseverance, and a relentless pursuit of his dreams. It serves as a testament to the idea that it's never too late to change your path and invest in your education. No matter where you start, with determination and hard work, you can achieve great things and make a lasting impact.
